Home Theater on the lake

AVS installed a home theater this year in a residence on Lake Anna.  We loved this job- very nice customers and a big fun theater space to work in and a special side perk is that we got to fish in the lake before working 🙂  We installed the theater, a few TVs in the house and a Sonos unit on the boathouse pier.

This theater went into an unfinished basement in a home around Lake Anna.  The room is about 15′ x 16′.  Just big enough for 8 theater seats, a 10′ wide screen, a 4K projector (mounted on the ceiling), and a 5.1 surround sound system.  In the front left of the room double doors hide a small closet that contains the AV rack (which operates the system) and storage shelves for holding movies.

The Theater Seats are by ROW ONE- big, wide, comfortable seats that recline via quiet motors and a push of a button.   All 5.1 speakers are in wall or in ceiling and are by my favorite company: Episode / SnapAV.  The AV Receiver is a Pioneer Elite SC-91 which delivers 130 watts of pure clear powerful sound to each speaker.  This theater can rock and rumble with the best of them.

The 10′ wide screen is a Cineperm by Draper.  Its a fixed screen with a 2″ black border and matt white viewing surface.  The projector is a JVC DLA-RS500-  a 4K, 3D, 1800 lumen model and delivers near IMAX quality visuals.

The theater is operated by a Logitech Harmony / Ipad mini remote control bundle which acts as a redundant system.  The main control is done via the wireless Ipad mini.  If wireless goes out for whatever reason the remote you see in the left side of the picture is RF and can also be used.  One button and this system is ready to go.
